This document describes who is eligible for participation in the Basic Retirement Plan and who is not eligible.
Newly hired Research Foundation (RF) employees working 975 hours of service in an anniversary year based on a 37.5-hour week (1,000 hours based on a 40-hour week) — in a title other than those listed in the following block — are eligible to participate in the RF Basic Retirement Plan.
Former RF employees who vested in the RF Basic Retirement Plan and who return to RF employment are eligible to participate in the plan regardless of the number of hours worked.
The following employees are not eligible for the Basic Retirement Plan:
Eligible employees must meet a waiting period and must meet specific service requirements in order to participate in the plan.
