RF Custom Burdening Error Report

Description

Purpose

The Custom Burdening Error Report is produced as a result of the RF Burden process which is run nightly. The report indicates any award, project, or task that was not burdened and provides an error message with the reason for the error. The campus staff or the Office of Sponsored Program Services on behalf of centralized campuses is responsible for taking the appropriate corrective action.

Frequency

This report results from running the nightly RF Burden process. The nightly RF Burden process produces a report of exceptions with reason codes.

The report should be run on a daily basis and corrective action taken. The errors must be corrected by the end of the month or the correct F&A charges will not be reflected on the following reports/inquiries:

Setting Report Parameters

The Custom Burdening Error Report has no parameters.

Understanding the Output

The following table describes the report output:

Column Heading	Description of Column
Loc	The operating location.
Award	The number associated with the award that is funding the projects and tasks.
Project	The number associated with the project.
Task	The number associated with the task.
Application Message	The error that occurs from the burden process.
Sql Message	The reason for the error from the burden process.

Error Message and Resolution

The following table indicates the application message, the SQL message and the appropriate resolution:

The report is available in PDF and ASCII (TEXT) format. PDF is a formatted, printable version. ASCII can be easily pulled into a spreadsheet or word processor.
Once you select a format and run the report, you cannot change the output format. You will need to run the report again and select the desired output format on the Submit Request window.
