RF Effort Reporting Roster

Description

Purpose

The customized RF Effort Reporting Roster report lists all Certification of Salary Distribution reports (effort reports) created for a specified reporting period(s) for each campus and the current status of the report in the Oracle business application. This report is used to review and track the status of Certification of Salary Distribution Reports and identify reports that need action taken on them. This report can be used as a tracking tool to ensure all effort reports have been certified (signed) and returned to the office of record. The report can be run for any combination of the following: a single reporting period, all reporting periods, a single report status code or all report status codes.

Setting Report Parameters

The following table describes the required and optional parameters needed to run the report:

Parent Organization

Name of campus beginning with the location code.

For example: 010 University Center at Albany

Optional Parameters

Period Name

Reporting period of created effort reports.

Leave blank to review for all reporting periods.

Note: Parameter automatically defaults to most current reporting period.

Optional Single Status Code Report

Status code of effort report.

Enter a single status code to display all effort reports in a specified status.

For example: A - Certification/Rejection

Leave blank to review all effort reports.

Optional Sort Order

Sort order of output.

Options are:

  • Status Order
  • Employee Name Order
  • Principal Investigator Order

     

Understanding the Output

The RF Effort Reporting Roster can be run for any combination of the following: a single reporting period, all reporting periods, a single report status code or all report status codes. The top or header text of the report lists the reporting period. If the report is run with more than one reporting period, the default sort is by most recent reporting period. If it is run by all status codes and the selected sort option is by status code, the report will use the following sort order: A – Certification/Rejection Needed, S – Effort Needs to be Recreated, R – Rejected, and C – Certified.

Note: The terms Certification of Salary Distribution Report and effort report are used interchangeably.

The table that follows describe the report output:

Column Heading

Description of Column

Operating Location

Location code and name of the campus.

Effort Reporting Period Name

Reporting period of Certification of Salary Distribution Report for employee.

Employee Name

Employee's name associated with the employee number and the ad hoc or Certification of Salary Distribution Report created on the date.

Emp. No.

System generated identification number assigned to the employee's record.

Principal Investigator

Principal Investigator displayed on the Certification of Salary Distribution.

Status

Most current status of effort report created.

The following status codes and descriptions will notify the user of what action may be necessary, if any:

  • A – Certification/Rejection Needed: Effort Report is in an outstanding status and needs to either be certified or rejected.
  • C – Certified: Effort Report was certified in Oracle and the hard copy Certified Effort Report is on file. No further action necessary.
  • R – Rejected Effort Report was rejected and may need adjustments before recreating it again. Investigative work may be necessary.
  • S – Effort Report Needs to be Recreated Retroactivity has occurred since the Effort Report was previously created and the Effort Report needs to be recreated to capture the retroactivity.

     

Report Creation Date

Date the Certification of Salary Distribution Report was created in Oracle.
