KBACE Payroll Activity Totals Report

Description

Purpose

The KBACE Payroll Activity Totals Report includes a pivot table that has a total by element name foe each element paid in the current payroll. Also available on drill down are all employees paid under the report element and the associated values.

Understanding the Output

This is a Pivot Table report - an interactive report that combines and compares large amounts of data. You can rotate table rows and columns to see different summaries of the source data, and you can display the details for areas of interest.

Fields at the top of the spreadsheet can be used to create summarized subsets of information. By clicking on the arrow next to a field you can select a specific value to be used to summarize the data in the report.

Note: The field selected to summarize data can be moved into the table pivot table report.

To drill down to the detail data, double click on a field in the summarized pivot table to see the detail data.

Pivot Table Fields (Rows Displayed at Top of Report in Order) - Summary Options

Name

Description

Jurisdiction

9-digit number that denotes the state, county, and city for which taxes were withheld.

Balance Name

Amount run through payroll that affects the net earnings or imputed earnings.

Pivot Table Columns (Summarized Data) Displayed in Order

Name

Description

Classification

Type of earnings or deductions.

Examples: voluntary, pretax

Element Name

Name of Earnings element under which the amount was paid.
Examples: Regular Salary, Vacation Pay

Payroll Impact

The total dollar amount of the element for the pay period selected. This amount includes the special input version of the element.

Imputed Earnings

Total amount of imputed earnings.

Detailed Data Fields Displayed on the First Drill Down in Column Order

Name

Description

Assignment Number

 

System generated employee number used as a unique identifier of a person whose record is in the Research Foundation (RF) business system.

Person Name

Last name and first name (separated by a comma) of the person that was paid.

Last Name

Last name of the person that was paid.

First Name

First name of the person that was paid.

Middle

Middle initial of the person that was paid.

Title

Title that precedes the person's name.
For example: Mrs.

Balance Name

Amount run through payroll that affects the net earnings or imputed earnings.

Mailstop

Delivery drop where paycheck or stub was delivered.

Element

Name of earnings element under which the amount was paid.
Examples: Regular Salary, Vacation Pay

Payroll Impact

The total dollar amount of the element for the pay period selected. This amount includes the special input version of the element.

Effective Date

The date of the payroll run.

Action Type

Values:

  • R- Regular Payroll
  • Q - QuickPay

     

Sort Classification

Type of earnings or deductions.

Examples: voluntary, pretax

Imputed Earnings

Amount of imputed earnings.

FTE

Full-time equivalent; a salaried employee's expected effort on his or her total assignment


Example: Enter .50 for salaried employees working half time for the RF.
