Why I want to be a Mentor:
I am motivated by seeing people who haven't reached their potential and may not even know what that may be. I'm motivated to help people be strong advocates for themselves and what they believe in.
I am a bit of an obsessive-compulsive worker who wants to not just "get something done", but "get it done right." No shortcuts. I have personal interests in birding, environmental causes, Disney and Harry Potter. I believe in not taking myself too seriously, but taking my work very seriously.
I believe that every individual deserves to be the best person they can be. Sometimes, they need guidance to discover what that means... sometimes they need encouragement to take a step in a frightening direction. I believe in asking questions to guide each person to discover for themselves who they want to be in this world.
Commitment to Diversity:
I was the moderator on a panel for Women's History Month at SUNY. I've produced and written scripts for a variety of events involving Dr. King and his legacy. I have mentored many individuals over my 20 years of management and business ownership.
